CAS Authenticated – Unknown User to LON-CAPA

Here are some possible reasons that LON-CAPA cannot authenticate you even though you are authenticated by the FSU Central Authentication System (CAS). (Read these notes carefully.)

• If you have just enrolled in a course that uses LON-CAPA, your name may not be on the classlist. Updates of the rosters are done five times a day during drop/add period and once a day (in the early morning hours) after that.
• If you have multiple usernames that can be authenticated by CAS, you should use the username of the form that starts with your initials plus the 2-digit year you first enrolled at FSU, plus an optional letter. i.e., it should look like "abc20d". (Using username like "jdoe", i.e., first initial plus last name will not work for most students.) Logout of CAS and try another username.
